Why Do Forums Matter? Because School Board members control the direction of the district. Read about the Role of a School Board Member. Attending non-partisan forums provide an opportunity to compare candidates side-by-side. School Board elections are particularly important for non-incumbents to become known to the community, and for incumbents to stand by their voting record and their achievements while serving on the Board. Forums help voters make a well-informed decision at the ballot box. In this election, four candidates are vying for 2 seats on the PAUSD School Board.
