Objectives of a newly proposed “Special Education Programs and Services, 3-year Plan (2019-2022)” are to:
- ensure compliance with procedural standards
- provide high quality programs and services
- train and support educators in effective collaborative teaming/co-teaching
- value parent partnerships and engagement
At the February 2019 Palo Alto CAC General Meeting, Lana Conaway (Assistant Superintendent of Strategic Initiatives and Operations) discussed her handout entitled “Special Education Programs and Services, 3-year Plan (2019-2022)”. The Plan is part of the PAUSD “Promise” and covers four objectives, and seven Key Performance Indicators (“KPI” metrics). First year costs are estimated or “TBD”, and should be discussed as part of the upcoming 2019/20 PAUSD Budget.
